This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and pro-active individual.   The Facilities Assistant will work with the Senior Estates Assistant to support the day to day operation of the college’s building, ensuring the appropriate service levels are maintained and that the college is a clean and safe environment for all our students, staff, governors and visitors. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and inspirational staff and make a real contribution to the effective running of Abbeygate.

Chief Information Officer - (Management Information and Data Reporting)

  • Bury St Edmunds or Ipswich based with some hybrid working

We are seeking an experienced strategist, adviser and leader to join the Eastern Colleges Group as our Chief Information Officer. 

The Group includes Suffolk Academies Trust (which is currently comprised of Abbeygate Sixth Form College in Bury St Edmunds and One Sixth Form College in Ipswich), and West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds.  Together, we make up a collective visionary group of post-16 education providers.  Sharing the same ambitious and strategic aims, our progressive and forward-thinking Group is committed to providing outstanding vocational and academic excellence to over 15,000 students across Suffolk.

This is a pivotal role on our Executive Team, which holds responsibility for College Information Systems, and all associated regulatory and compliance activities.

Key areas of accountability include the provision of accurate business intelligence to enable effective strategic and operational decision making, ensuring compliance with auditory requirements, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all funding claims and returns to ensure maximisation of the Group funding position, provision of data analytics on Group performance to support continuous quality improvement, leading on approach to curriculum planning and ensuring full compliance with external examination requirements.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of providing strategic leadership for data and information systems, ensuring quality management information to enhance performance, together with considerable experience of working in a data management role with notable successes and achievements. 

With demonstrable change management experience, you will possess analytical and report writing skills using industry standard reporting tools, as well as the ability to translate strategic aims into effective operational plans that demonstrate high quality outcomes.
