Due to significant growth in student numbers in Business, we are currently seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated teacher to join our college.

We are looking for an innovative and dedicated classroom practitioner who would work collaboratively with the team, the post holder will play a key role in inspiring students to engage with the subject material and to participate actively in lessons.

As a committed and enthusiastic teacher, the post holder will contribute to all aspects of the curriculum, ensuring students benefit from a high-quality learning experience.

We want teachers who are driven and determined to make a positive difference.  We expect teachers to use their pedagogical skills to ensure lessons are enjoyable and engaging whilst supporting our students to achieve the best possible grades, that enable them to progress on to their chosen destination. 

You will have the privilege, and challenge, of working in an exclusively A Level Sixth Form College with students that enjoy learning and have a determination to do well in their academic studies.   

You will be supported by a team of equally committed colleagues who are working collaboratively to create an amazing Sixth Form College for our students.  This is an opportunity to join a hugely supportive organisation where we value, support and facilitate your professional development. We ask only in return that teachers focus on continuing to improve their practice. Job Description

Student Support Administrator Apprenticeship

  • Student Support Administrator Apprenticeship
  • Bury St Edmunds   
  • Monday - Thursday 8:30am- 4:30pm - Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm. 12 month contract.  
  • Salary: £9,254.44 per annum  

Suffolk Academies Trust is currently comprised of One Sixth Form College in Ipswich and Abbeygate Sixth Form College in Bury St Edmunds. We are currently looking for a Student Support Administrator, who will be based at Abbeygate Sixth Form College, Bury St Edmunds. 

What will the apprentice be doing?

Main Duties:

  • Support Administration staff and Personal Progress Tutors (PPT) within student support and curriculum areas with a wide range of administrative processes.
  • Support the delivery of key events as required by the college throughout the academic year such as Parent’s Evenings and Open Events.
  • Assist with arranging educational visits, in accordance with our procedures.
  • Maintain files and systems ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
  • Undertake copy/word-processing of correspondence reports, etc for teaching and administrative staff.
  • Operate reprographic equipment as required. • To assist with key supporting duties around the enrolment and on-boarding of students at the beginning of the academic year.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The learner will be studying the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
  • Day release to West Suffolk College.
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This can lead to further roles across ECG such as a Personal Progress Tutor or an administrative role, as and when they are available. £6.83 per hour 18 - 20 years old. £4.81 per hour - under 18 years old
