Is it for me?
A broad vocational qualification for students interested in education who want to keep their future study and career options open.
Explore how people learn and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours used across education. You will apply your learning to realistic situations, plan inclusive learning, use assessment information and consider how education professionals create safe, positive and effective learning environments.
The Education V Level could be a good choice if you are interested in teaching, learning, child development or support services. It is designed for students who enjoy combining subject knowledge with practical, work-related activities and applying ideas to real situations.
It may suit you if you want to explore the education sector before choosing a particular occupation, or if you would like the flexibility to combine a vocational subject with A Levels or other V Levels.
What you'll learn
The Education V Level covers education across different stages, from birth to adult learning. You will develop and apply knowledge in areas including:
- How people learn, including pedagogical approaches and factors affecting learning.
- Planning effective, inclusive learning sessions and adapting activities to meet different needs.
- Using and evaluating assessment information to support progress.
- Health, safety and safeguarding, including carrying out risk assessments.
- Building positive professional relationships.
- Reflective practice and evidence-based recommendations.
- Using technology appropriately to support learning.
- Professional behaviours and transferable skills used across the sector.
Equipment required for the course
No specialist equipment requirements have been confirmed. You will need your usual college stationery and access to the digital resources used for teaching and assessment. Eastern Education Group will confirm any additional requirements before the course begins.
Work experience placements
A substantial industry placement is not a defining requirement of a V Level. The course will use practical, work-related learning to show how knowledge and skills are applied in education settings.
Eastern Education Group will confirm whether local work experience, visits, employer projects or other activities will form part of the course once final delivery arrangements are available.
Assessment
The detailed assessment model will be confirmed in the final qualification specification. Assessment will test both your knowledge and your ability to apply knowledge and practical skills in education-related contexts. The balance of examinations and non-examined assessment will be added when confirmed.
