Abbeygate Sixth Form College has moved to implement online distance learning

Firstly, I hope you and your families are all well.  You have all had an incredibly challenging time over the last few weeks, in addition to dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and the concern that surrounds this you have also had to cope with the uncertainly around your GCSE’s. 

Today I am writing to you to reassure you that all at ASFC are here for you and will support you in the decisions you take about your next steps in education.  ASFC and our partners at West Suffolk College Vocational Sixth Form College and West Suffolk College Apprenticeships, are committed to guaranteeing you, and every Year 11 student, a place for your Post 16 education from September 2020.  ASFC was established to provide outstanding A Level provision and alongside the vocational and apprenticeship routes provided by WSC we are able to make this commitment, knowing that we have all your Post 16 educational needs covered here in the heart of Bury Saint Edmunds.

We will work with you, based on the grades that you are awarded, to ensure that you are enrolled on the course and subjects that are absolutely right for you, so you can achieve and then progress on to your chosen destination.

My teaching colleagues at ASFC will be setting summer work for you after the Easter break and this will be available on our website.  Through completing this work you will come to ASFC as the best prepared A Levels students ever! It is really important that you do this work to the best of your ability, we know it will be helpful and prepare you for your A Levels but we also hope it is enjoyable and gives you an insight into the type of work and standard we expect from you.  

I hope this message provides you with some reassurance in these uncertain times.  

It has been a challenging time, and it will continue to be so for the forthcoming weeks and months. However, you will get through this and I look forward to meeting you at enrolment prior to starting your A Levels in September.  We will provide all applicants with more information over the forthcoming weeks and months.  I would like to send my best wishes to you and your families on behalf of myself and the entire ASFC team.
