Eastern Education Group congratulates class of 2023

One Sixth Form College (OSFC) in Ipswich and Abbeygate Sixth Form College (ASFC) and West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds congratulated their classes of 2023 on their results.

 

At ONE, a total of 851 students received either A-level or BTEC grades.

In terms of A levels, OSFC saw a 96% overall pass rate, with a 71% of students achieving grades at A* to C and 43% at A* to B.

 

99% of all BTEC students passed their vocational qualifications.

 

A third of all students (33%) who studied on a full-time vocational diploma programme gained a distinction profile (D*D*D* to DDD).

 

Dr Nikos Savvas, Chief Executive of Eastern Education Group that represents One Sixth Form College, Abbeygate Sixth Form College and West Suffolk College, said: “We are celebrating across the group on what has been an amazing set of results.

                       

“Congratulations to all of our students. The class of 2023 will go on to achieve amazing things in education, academia, business and public life, where they will support the economy and make a positive difference through their actions. We are excited to see how their futures unfold.”

 

Jake Robson, Group Sixth Form Principal at OSFC said: “We are delighted with the achievements of our students, following what has been a challenging time for young people in this country. As ever, in times of adversity their natural enthusiasm and determination to succeed shines through.

 

“We have much to celebrate, but we are particularly pleased with A level results in Ancient History, Art, Biology, French, Mathematics and Photography. Likewise, outcomes for vocational students studying Business, Media, Health and Performing Arts have been truly excellent.

 

“We are really proud of everything that has been achieved this year and our staff will be on hand this week with colleagues from local higher education and apprenticeship providers and a number of external businesses to help guide all of our students towards their next steps.”

2Luca Bernstein

Luca Bernstein, 17, from Debenham got the grades he needed to go to Oxford University where he will study history at Brasenose College. Luca said: “It won’t feel real until I get there (to Oxford University). I couldn’t have asked for a better time at One Sixth Form College. The environment has been perfect for me.”

 

In terms of ASFC, a total of 363 students received either A levels.

 

In terms of A levels, ASFC saw a 97.2% overall pass rate, with a 72% pass rate at A* to C and a 48%pass rate at A* to B.

 

Stuart Small is the assistant principal at Abbeygate Sixth Form College. Stuart said: “A huge congratulations to all of the students. We are exceptionally proud of them and we think they have done a brilliant job. We are delighted with the outcomes.”

3 Elaine Abu

Elaine Abu from ASFC studied A levels. Elaine said: “I got an A in Politics, B in French, and B in English Literature. I had a great time studying here. I’m not off to Edinburgh to study English and French at Edinburgh. After that I hope to work in the field of international business.”
